Similar to a greenhouse, the wet sunny climate of the Caribbean provides the means for the wholesale growth and development of flowers for shipment to the United States. Lately, perhaps due to global warming, the ability to grow more tropical flowers in the southern United States has improved as the growing zones have changed. The storage and delivery of wholesale flowers from the Caribbean is no longer a necessity as the flowery merchandise that makes a beautiful accessory to womens blouses and clothing can be grown without having to charter a boat or a plane to deliver the flowers. On the plus side, storage and shipping to places like Boston becomes less of a concern when the companies can rely on an educated horticulturalist to bring such flowers as the diminutive red wild canna to the ballooning floral markets stateside.
